Registration is now open for the IAFA Spring Doctoral Seminar which will take place online on Friday 28 March from 2:00–3:30pm. This event is aimed especially at doctoral and early-career researchers, and is free to attend. The event theme is:
“Public Engagement & Engaged Research”
We will have two excellent keynote contributions on the day:
Prof Julie Byrne (DCU)
Title: Engaged research in sustainable finance: does it matter?
Bio: Prof Byrne is full Professor of Finance at DCU and leads the development of sustainable finance within the Business School. Her research interests are in sustainable and energy finance and her research often adopts an interdisciplinary approach.
Dr Lloyd Maphosa (QUB)
Title: Bridging the past and present: engaged research in “unlikely” places
Bio: Dr Maphosa is a Centre for Economics, Policy and History research fellow at Queen’s University Belfast. He completed his PhD in History at Stellenbosch University, South Africa, and his research focuses on the financial history of colonial South Africa.
The event will also include “peer insights” from current doctoral researchers on the day.
