This event takes the format of a writers’ retreat aimed at doctoral students and early career researchers. The event is kindly supported by CPA Ireland. Zoom links will be circulated the morning of the event.
We have two excellent contributors for this event:
Professor Sheila Killian is an Associate Professor of Accounting from Kemmy Business School at the University of Limerick. Sheila’s research addresses issues of social sustainability, accountability and the common good, with a focus on professional expertise, social justice, tax policy and business school education. Sheila has an excellent publication record and serves on the editorial boards of numerous academic journals. In recent years Shelia has published her first novel.
Dr Karen McBride is a highly accomplished accounting academic at the University of Portsmouth. Karen’s main research interests are in the broad subjects of financial reporting and auditing and her more recent research focuses on Accounting History. Karen is the co-founder of the Accounting History Special Interest Group of the British Accounting and Finance Association. Karen also has an excellent publication record and serves on the editorial boards of numerous academic journals.
The event is aimed at providing insights on academic writing to doctoral students and early career researchers. Professor Killian will begin the event by sharing some insights on academic writing based on her distinguished writing career. This will be followed by Dr McBride sharing her insights on the usefulness of structured writing periods and writers’ retreats, before leading into the the writing retreat element of the event.
Registration for the event will close at 5pm on Monday November 7th after which, registered attendees will receive the information required to access the seminar. We look forward to seeing you at this event.
