Overview of Seminar
Teemu Malmi is a Professor of Accounting in at Aalto University Helsinki. He has previously held positions at the University of Canterbury, Christchurch and the University of Technology Sydney, he is currently a Visiting Professor at Lund University. Professor Malmi has published in academic journals such as ‘Accounting, Organizations and Society’, ‘Management Accounting Research’ and European Accounting Review’, among others. His principal research interests are in management accounting, management control systems and strategy implementation. He is member of the Editorial Board of Management Accounting Research, Abacus, European Accounting Review and
Journal of Management Control. In addition, Professor Malmi serves as an adviser to a large number of firms across different industries.
Applicable to all researchers, Professor Malmi will share his valuable research experience focusing on positioning a research study to contribute to theory. In addition, this seminar will provide an opportunity for some PhD students to present their research and to receive advice and guidance from Professor Malmi. The schedule for the seminar is as follows:

11.30 am: Presentation by Professor Malmi
1 pm: Informal lunch
2 pm – 3.30 pm: Doctoral student presentations
