The IAFA Doctoral Colloquium and 31st Annual Conference will be hosted by the Kemmy Business School, University of Limerick on 23rd-25th May 2018.
The format of the conference will be similar to previous years. The Doctoral Colloquium will take place on Wednesday 23rd May and will run for the entire day. The Annual Conference will run from Thursday morning 24th May to Friday lunch time 25th May. Detailed schedules will issue nearer to the conference date.
The deadline for completed papers/abstracts is 28th February, 2018. Empirical, theoretical and review papers are welcomed in all areas of accounting, finance, taxation and risk management. Decisions on acceptances of papers will be communicated by 11th April, 2018. Accepted papers will only be included on the conference schedule where registration and payment has been received from at least one author by 30th April, 2018 (see www.iafa.ie for further details).
This event will provide students, at all stages of Doctoral (or Masters) research, with an opportunity to present their work and receive feedback from academics in their field. To present your work at the Doctoral Colloquium, you must complete Parts A(i) and (ii) of the application form which should be submitted no later than Friday 16th March 2018. Students attending the Doctoral Colloquium can register for the IAFA conference at a reduced fee (more information is available on the IAFA website).
Those wishing to present their research at the Doctoral Colloquium can also make a submission to the Doctoral Funding Competition, with a total fund of up to €5,000 available in 2018. Applicants to the Funding Competition must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria (outlined on the application form) and they must also complete Part B of the application form. Completed application forms should be submitted by email no later than Friday 16th March 2018 to the Conference Organiser. In addition to submitting an application form, applicants must also attend and present their research at the Doctoral Colloquium.
Successful applicants must also attend and present at the IAFA Doctoral Colloquium in the year following receipt of their award. They will be expected to report on how they used the funding awarded, how their work benefits the IAFA and provide advice for future applicants.

The gala dinner will take place at the Castletroy Park Hotel on Thursday night 24th May. The meal is included in your conference fee. Accommodation has been reserved at a preferential rate of €85 single occupancy for bed and breakfast (this includes use of the hotel leisure centre). However, the hotel will only guarantee this rate up to a month before the conference.
Alternative accommodation is available at University of Limerick – ON SITE Conference Accommodation . These en-suite villages are a maximum of 8 minutes’ walk away from any meeting room on campus, and are located in the scenic parkland campus of the University..
